- Make a stable game with no crashes
- use an engine with realistic details/graphics
- hire a team devoted strictly to improving franchise play and reference the features from the Madden games from the 2003-2007 era - most franchise players would be happy to see 20 year old features return to the game - create a team with the player being able to choose whichever city they wanted, build out custom uniforms, team names etc
- also get a picture of every player for the game - i hate seeing the generic computer made faces. it's not hard to get a player photo from the team website or espn and apply it to the game.
Agree completely on the old features comment. It is crazy to me that things they did 20+ years ago are better than the current madden. I know their focus is on MUT but how about just splitting the game at this point. Maybe make MUT a free to play cash grab and actually put a dev team on just franchise mode like they said they were going to. Franchise mode has always been my favorite part but I stopped buying the game because it has gotten worse year over year. It is insane some little things like the NFL draft keep getting worse in this game.
Also, bugs in this game that I have seen for 20 years. Teams wait until exactly 1 minute to call a timeout still. I have had a few games where the team didn't call a timeout at all and let the clock run out at halftime even though they were in field goal range.
I want them to take NFL Head Coach from 2009 and merge it into Madden. The franchise mode needs to be improved. Anyone else have every player from your practice squad signed every single week? I have signed my practice squad, go a week and they are all taken from me. Then sign new ones from FA and they are gone again. This will happen every week of the season. I finally just shut off practice squad signing entirely because it was annoying.
I do feel like the in game mechanics have improved but the presentation, bugs and commentary have gotten worse. Madden needs competition. If someone has a game similar to Madden with a great franchise mode but doesn't have the NFL license, I am all in.
