@CItyboidguy I'd guess I know how frustrating it is facing this pattern. I was affected several times in Madden 20 too. ☹️
since I also had issues with Solo Battles DNFs, I invested some time to investigate what causes these issues. my conclusion from what I've seen so far is that Madden is very sensitive to lost data packets. data packets get lost from time to time if a connection between two devices (e.g. your Xbox and EA's servers) is not stable. it does not matter whether the connection is fast or not, but whether all the data packets are transfered completely.
since I faced the DNFs in Solo Battles very often (I had 29 DNFs in Madden 20) I replaced my modem and my router. I replaced the cable connecting my PC with the router. I also did a UO Trace (see more details at the end of my post) investigating the connection from my PC to EA's servers.
what I've learnt is that disconnects depend on lost data packets causing a desync between the servers and your device. since I improved the stability of my internet connection (not only the speed!) I only got 1 or 2 H2H losses due to the pattern you are describing. it really improved a lot.
before I started my investigations, I was so sure that either my opponents cheated or EA's servers were trash. I always took a look at the symbols showing my connection status in general. it always looked like that my connection did not have an issue. today I'm sure that always when I got a loss due to a disconnect, the servers tried to check the connection to my PC and to that of my opponent. if there was a desync with my PC due to lost data packets in the moment the program code checked my connection, it concluded that I've lost the connection (or that I intentionally interrupted the connection). if my opponent was lucky and his PC was contactable, he might have got the win although he conceded the game. this is a very annoying pattern and I'd really prefer if there was a chance to resume the game within a certain time frame instead of assessing it as a loss for one of the players. but understanding this pattern helped me a lot not to blame my opponent for it and therefore also increased my gaming fun significantly.
in the meantime I was able to improve the stability of my internet connection a lot, so this problem is not that bad anymore. nevertheless I will always be without a chance when I play against a good player with a good team, because for me as a European the line to EA's servers (in California) will always be slower than for players from the USA. but I just accept that now and don't expect that I 'can' win every game anymore. it's always good to have at least one excuse to keep your own ego in balance.... 😉
I'd therefore suppose the following:
- check your connection between your xbox and your router/modem. if feasible I'd recommend to connect it hardwired. a cable is much more stable than WiFi in terms of lost data packets.
- it might be worth doing a UO Trace. if there is an issue somewhere between you and the Madden servers, ... well, at least you would know it and most likely will have to accept it. ☹️
- maybe you might want to contact your internet provider and ask for a stability test for your internet connection. a qualified technician should be able to check it immediately without having to visit your house.
- if 3) says that your modem/router loses data packets frequently, it might be possible to replace the modem/router or maybe the internet provider could improve your connection (e.g. by replacing a faulty cabel).
I hope that helps and you will be able to reduce the frustration due to these disconnects. good luck!
>>> UO Trace
Do you have a PC/laptop by any chance so a UO Trace can be ran? It's a free connectivity tool from EA's website link below to check how your connection is reaching EA's servers? EA's Support staff can't help with those because of tool limitations. Usually when DNFs occur when game results are being calculated it's due to a de-sync that happens when exchanging the data. There is a loss of connection which causes the system to assume it was a disconnection from the user.
