Forum Discussion
@KWRussell
Your feedback and frustrated is acknowledged. The Forum Team will continue to pass along all PC fan's thoughts on feeling excluded from FieldSENSE to the team. It's not ideal and I am sure it came down to a tough decision to not be able to include this for that platform. If there is any path to adding Gen 5 features for players on PC this season we will make sure its announced to the community. Throughout my years at EA and helping the Madden team I do not anticipate any deviation from what has already been announced for this season of Madden NFL 23.
The game features/details you are requesting to be shown are unavailable to the forum team to announce at this time. As in the past, these features are showcased over Gridiron Notes and social media as we come closer to launch. We'll make sure it's posted here as soon as we become aware. It's understandable eager fans like yourself want to find out what's included on PC so you know how the game will feel and play. Pre-order bonuses are valid up until the Worldwide release date. So if there is any concerns on missing out on those benefits we thankfully have more time on our side until additional news about the game is revealed. In a world where we have Twitch & YouTube streamers and those with early access to the game it allows fans to get a good idea what a game will be like before making a purchase. Again to bring this up in the forums the EA Play Pro membership includes the full game and a huge library of other games. EA Play Basic will allow 10 hours of gameplay for Madden NFL 23. I know some players will jump into that to see if they want to purchase the full game once the 10 hours of gameplay are up.
We hope you join us on the field this season but we also don't want you to feel obligated to play a game you don't think will have the best experience. Having fun in our games is a pretty big part of why we make games. We really think this year will be an amazing season of Madden NFL football on both Gen 4 and Gen 5. That is up to you to decide in the end though and we'll make sure all concerns are forwarded to the team from our side both before and after launch. That is what we are responsible here on the forums. We'll be your voice in any way we can so they can consider requests for the future.

@EA_Blueberryyou are speaking as if you actually believe there is only a feature missing.
GUYS. EA MADE 2 DIFFERENT GAMES IN 2 DIFFERENT ENGINES.
Character models, lighting, shaders, geometry..all previous gen on PC.
Fieldsense is nonsense. No one cares. Stop lying about information that is public. If we were getting current gen physics and character models, no one would be in this forum right now.
It is not one feature we are missing. We are in an entirely different game engine.
Ya know..the one with stick figures and inaccurate numbers on the sidelines..
Lord have mercy. No one is interested in the current gimmick. I have been saying this over and over, but I see people responding and they are actually believing you that they are just getting a game without fieldsense.STOP IT

Everyone on PC is somewhat aware. If you go to the Steam reviews of M22 nobody wants to play M22 or M23 because we know the inner workings and can actually tell what's going on behind the scenes when an update happens or anything. It must suck for EA sports to be held to a standard when they can't BS a whole community. If you look at the system requirements on steam for Madden 22 and Madden 23, they have identical requirements. Shows how much work was put into it.

"It's not ideal and I am sure it came down to a tough decision to not be able to include this for that platform."
Some clarity on what went into that decision would be very much appreciated. What was the factor that limited this? Minimum specs changing too much? Not enough QA resources to effectively test it? - CoolwaterPSN4 years agoRising Vanguard@EA_Blueberry This is the most honest thing you've posted in this thread.

I shouldn't have to go to Youtube or Twitch to find out what features will be on Gen 4. You and the EA team should already have that information for us before Madden 23 ever launches. I mean how hard is it for you to just separate what's going to be on Gen 4 as supposed to Gen 5? For example is the AI for Gen 4 Madden 23 going to be the exact same AI as in Gen 4 Madden 21 or have they at least upgraded it? Even in the Gridiron notes I have a hard time trying to figure out "well is this just for Gen 5 or is any of it relevant to Gen 4?"
This is an EA problem not ours. Maybe you don't have that info right now, but a month from now if you're still getting asked the same questions and you "don't" have the answers then that's a problem. I mean I've already decided not to buy your game I trust you understand for obvious reasons, but you need to know that there's a pretty big communication issue going on. I mean asking for "fundamental" information about a game shouldn't be the equivalent to getting your teeth pulled out. Again not now, but you should be able to answer it pretty quickly when the game is about to come out. Anyway I'm not saying this out of anger or anything I mean I'm pretty indifferent at this point.

If it weren't done that way they wouldn't be able to sucker more people into buying a game that has minimum effort put into it.
- 4 years ago@cashmachine28 as I've said these are 2 entirely different games in 2 entirely different game engines. It has nothing to do with features being enabled or disabled.
The ps5/xsx game is in their newer game engine.
The ps4/x1/pc game is the same as its been for a decade.
Nba 2k23 just announced pc will again have the previous gen version of the game as well. They seem to follow madden each year. Unfortunately they seem to put pc in the same category as switch, for some reason. They discuss them alongside each other like they are remotely close to the same thing.
Anyway. Please don't fall for the fieldsense nonsense. They said the same thing last year with GameDay.
The fact is; they are not giving us the newest version of the game. We will have the ps4 app. The one with cardboard stick figures on the sideline.
Don't let them mention features like fieldsense. If that were the only difference, no one would care. NOTHING is the same between pc and ps5/xsx versions. The AI is different. Lighting, shaders, all assets, geometry. Everything. Its all made for hardware over a decade old.
MLB the show, nba 2k, and madden, have been games I've owned for decades.
However, I haven't played them in years because of this.
PC is the fastest growing platform. We are about to be 2 full generations ahead of console hardware, and the fact that devs are doing this is disgraceful.
Console people will say "it's because of the small player base".
That's nonsense. The small player base is because NO ONE IS GOING TO SPEND $60 TO PLAY MADDEN 13 FOR THE 10TH YEAR IN A ROW - KWRussell4 years agoRising Traveler@CBlan1224 It’s not two different engines, it’s all Frostbite. An engine that every non-sports division of EA has used to deliver next-gen experiences on PC.
- 4 years ago@KWRussell Yep exactly. It's been Frostbite 3 for a very long time and still is with Madden 23 no matter what platform it's on. This whole situation is complete BS but we don't need to misrepresent the truth in order to make this obvious.
- 4 years ago@KWRussell you're right it must've been something about the physics engine I was reading and my imagination took it from there. Hey, it's all we have to go on, after all.
But seriously, that makes it make even less sense. If madden truly is scalable and they have 2 entirely different games instead of scaling it.
It should be scaled well above console. - 4 years ago
Pre-Order canceled, pass that along, I'll also be canceling my Play Pro, and I'll be pushing friends and family not to buy this game. There is no reason that a game developed on a PC cannot be ported to a PC with all its features. EA made over a Billion dollars on Madden last year so spare us all the Corpo speak. I know you are just a community manager and don't make choices about the game so please don't think this anger is directed at you or the DEVs this choice rests solely on management who doesn't take PC players seriously. This is now the third year PC players will be getting a substandard game despite most PCs being on the same level or better as current Gen consoles. The fact that EA can't be bothered to let people know PC players will be getting a last-gen port until July one month before the game is set to release says it all.

FIFA 23 for the PC will be based on the current generation (PS5/Xbox Series), with double the system requirements and almost all the same features.
There's no reason for Madden NFL to be left out in the dust again.
Such a waste. If EA would release all the features for Madden 23, they would make a killing. I’m not going to be buying Madden on PC until it matches or exceeds the console version. EA might want to look at how well Elden Ring did on PC. It outsold PlayStation. Whoever is in charge of the PC division should be fired, because they are just losing money by not making the PC version match the console version. Instead of growing the PC user base, they are just going the wrong way.
I might actually give FIFA 23 a look since they seem to be able to deliver the same experience on console and PC

Hello Any updates on if FieldSENSE coming to PC?? If not its going to make or break my pre-order. I want to make sure I am getting my moneys worth!
- 4 years ago@Jax_elite16 It's been confirmed that fieldsense isn't coming to pc, along with any other feature added in the last few years.
Pc is getting the ps4/Xbox one app. So, the same applies for the better AI that the new cpu's allow, GameDay, nextgen stats and really anything else that is exclusive to the current consoles...right down to showing who is talking during the cutscenes, and having actual players instead of stick figures on the sideline.
Forget about it. - 4 years ago
EA's Complete disregard to an entire community of their customers is absolutley disgusting. Not bringing the Next Gen version to PC for the second year in a row is a slap in the face to many lifelong customers of this franchise. Can anyone at EA give a honest answer to why these features are still being left out of the PC version? Can anyone at EA explain why we are paying the same price for a 2nd rate version? Does anyone at EA even have the fortitude to face their paying customers? This franchise, and EA, are a disgrace.

Couldn’t there been a release for both for next Gen and last Gen? Make it a bundle for PC because I’m assuming next Gen isn’t optimized for PC but if you have an RTX card there shouldn’t be a problem. If people can’t run it then they can play last Gen. Playing last Gen Madden 23 literally looks and feels like Madden 22 just with Thicc Defensive Linemen. Looking at next Gen it looks great and has been getting great reviews which is good but I can’t pretend that next Gen Is literally better in every way in terms of graphics and mechanics.
