Why is Madden 22 suddenly asking for a monthly fee to play franchise mode vs OS?

Why is my Xbox 1 account suddenly asking for a monthly fee just to play Franchise mode against the OS?

    Hey @ImperialBalla78 To confirm Connected Franchise or FotF will require a subscription on console.

    @EA_Barry So even when playing against the gaming system, and not anyone online....I STILL have to pay for the monthly membership??

        If I have to buy a monthly subscription just to play against the OS, I AM DONE WITH MADDEN. This is SO MUCH *!!!

      That’s total crap and if they don’t change it, I am done with Madden!!!
