Practice Squad players can be signed by other teams per the NFL rules.
The NFL allows practice squad players to be signed by other teams, but there are some rules governing the process:
- Players cannot be signed directly from one practice squad to another. They either have to be released first or added to the active 53-man team.
- Practice squad players are not allowed to sign with upcoming opponents, unless done so a minimum of six days before the two teams’ game (10 if the team is on a bye).
- If a practice squad player is signed by another team, he receives a guaranteed three-week salary and will count against the 53-man roster for at least three weeks — even if released before those three weeks are over.
I know how the practice squads in game and in reality work, but there's something amiss here.
Every game week for the past 2 game weeks, I've had exactly 9 of my 12 players taken from me, and nobody else's practice squads are being touched. I'm basically in a never ending circle of needing to sign 9 practice guys, just for them to get taken when I advance to the next week.
That doesn't even happen in the actual NFL.

I have my doubts that's what's happening. It seems a bit far fetched since it's only my practice squad losing players, and losing them at a high capacity every single week.
I have checked the rosters those players went to, and they aren't replacing anyone, they're just backups to a full healthy depth chart.
One of my players was a 57 overall QB, and he was picked up by a team who had 3 better QBs than him all still healthy.
I don't know what's going on, but I'm pretty sure it's a bug.
This is feature killing bug that is on the PS5 on Madden 23 as well. The computer only targets user controlled teams and wipes out their practice squad. In some cases the team stealing the player turn around and release the player the same week. They don't do this to other CPU team's practice squads. This really makes the whole feature useless in franchise mode. Either fix this or you might as well remove the feature altogether.
