First off it's the only competitive mode left with OD gone so making it pay to play is ridiculous but let's look past that for now. Just got a matchup on my first attempt that was me 2400 vs them 30...

Want to let you know this post will be forwarded over to the Community Manager and your feedback was fantastic. If you missed yesterday's stream he devoted a large part of the segment to arena and how the team is going to be reviewing it's current model. I am posting it here below if you're interesting in listening to it.
I completely understand your perspective on the fairness and how if you only get a couple attempts a day, only to lose, it's just not the best experience. This post already is one of the hotter ones in this forum since launch and can be a great resource for the team with suggestions. Keep them coming.
@EA_Blueberry How come in the beginning I was earning 500 arena coins per victory and now it's only 100? Is that because I've completed the Arena ladder or because of a change. 500 is worth grinding for, 100 really isn't.

They decided to reduce the amount of Arena Coins it gave out per win from 500 to 100 as you said. Can't really speak for an exact reasoning, but suppose they deemed 500 Coins per win to allow for more progression than they had anticipated it would.
