I logged into the game this morning and received the following notice:
PENALTY FLAG
WARNING
This account has been found in violation of the User Agreement and has had its coins reduced and access to the Auction House temporarily disabled. Further breaches may result in additional actions taken against this account up to and including banning the account.
My coins have been reduced to 100,000 from between 1.5million and 2million.
I do not understand this. I am a clean player. I have not purchased coins. I only have one account and have not made any kind of transfers. The coins I had were coins that I earned through legitimate grinding (I'm a level 73) and perfectly normal activity in the Auction House.
I have submitted a ticket to Customer Service. In past experiences, they have requested that I post on these forums, so I'm doing so.
This is extremely frustrating. If I cannot find out from EA why I was penalized and if I cannot get my coins and AH access restored, I think I am done with this game.
UPDATE: I just received 1.5 million back from EA. I have no idea if that's everything they took, because I didn't take a screenshot last night. But it's pretty close. I still can't access the AH, but it's at least a good sign.

I spent an hour 25 on the phone to support on the matter and was told that the specialist teams said it would be for one of two reasons; 1. you've cheated (not their words exactly) or 2. it's outstanding transactions catching up with themselves. Neither apply to me, like I'd not notice spending 5 million on stuff and not being charged for it... I got cash because some fool had money to buy Most Feared Randy Moss off me at the end of last month. I had 5.5 mil left this morning and then the game update occurred and I was dumped down to 100k as well. It's been escalated as I refused to accept what was being spun to me and for the simple fact I've not cheated for one moment. I said to support that either the coins were credited back or I would close my account and insist that all the real money I've spent this season be reimbursed by EA. I've spent money on this game, completely played by the rules and am being penalised by them because of some back office issues they're having. It's probably easier to do this to get to the cheats even if we honest players are caught up in collateral...

Same happened to me. I do not know how to hack nor would I do so. Never broke any ToS. Yet 15M gets wiped out. Very upset because I have been playing since this game started over 3 years ago.
I opened a ticket which I assume nothing will be done. Even if I build my coins back up, who is to say they will not just wipe them out again before the next major promo. This is robbery.
stEAling from me.
- Anonymous8 years agoI also have been penalized without breaking any ToS. I emailed them and haven't heard back yet. I haven't done anything that should even be a red flag. They are about to lose an EA Access member, someone who has played EA games since NHL 94'. I want my money back that I have spent on the game or all my coins and AH ability restored. Unreal EA... unreal.
- Anonymous8 years agoMe to. I never have cheated and this happens
- Anonymous8 years agoIf you have spent real money obtaining items cleanly, you can organize a class action law suit on the bases of fraud. If you get the right court into this, EA can be sued for commission of fraud since real money is involved.

Me too
- 8 years agoIt’s nearly impossible to hack coins in madden ea is becoming a joke I haven’t been able to purchase cash for a month and they continue to close my cases

Welp, looks like someone has rolled a bunch of posts into this one.
Both my initial case with EA Help and my initial email to lets_talk@ea.com were closed on Friday with the message: "We’re happy to let you know that we’ve returned your missing Coins in Madden Mobile." No mention of the AH ban.
I could not reopen the lets_talk case, but I reopened the EA Help case and received another generic response that I needed to contact lets_talk@ea.com.
So I opened a second case this morning with lets_talk@ea.com with the following requests:
1. Please explain to me precisely what it is that triggered this penalty2. Please restore my access to the Auction House3. If it is not possible to restore my access to the Auction House, please at least release some sort of statement as to how long we can expect the “temporary” ban might lastI would recommend that everyone in this thread do the same.
In the meantime, it would be wonderful if one of the Community Managers would chime in with some information regarding the justification for and length of these AH bans. Thank you.
- 8 years agoDay 5 in the books and still no response from EA.
Can somebody at EA please at least just acknowledge our existence???- Anonymous8 years ago
Just don't understand whats happening. Is there honestly absolutely no body to tell us whats going on? Flag us, take our coins, suspend our Auction House, give back our coins, tell us it was a mistake but still have auction house down day 5 now. I am being forced to level players I dont want to, make sets Ive been saving up for others because my bench is full 1200/1200. I have packs I cant even open. No reason to buy more if I cant open them anyways..can anyone atleast acknowledge we are alive?? That the problem is real?

My EA Help case was marked Resolved again, and I was offered this beautiful assurance:
"Let me share the studio are aware of this issue and are continuing to monitor the situation. I will suggest you to keep playing the game fairly and you will get the access automatically. There is no ETA at the moment but studio would not make you wait longer."
I think I'm done pushing this issue through EA Help for the moment.
I haven't heard back from lets_talk@ea.com, but the Updated time on my case has changed a few times. So maybe it's being assigned to someone with a bit more knowledge and authority. We'll see. Studio would not make me wait longer.
- Anonymous8 years agowtf im considering contacting apple regarding this matter. This is absolutely absurd bc when i ask why i can't use AH they don't even mention any ban being present, so I did nothing wrong. So fine, i'm not spending a dime and want my funds back. Hope EA crashes n burns since a bunch of idiots are doing this job.
- Anonymous8 years agoPurchasing coins is not illegal. Unless they have it strictly written down in their rules, than purchasing coins isn't illegal. Its just like purchasing cash. It helps you just like the coins do. So what's the difference? I did the same thing on NBA LIVE Mobile and i never once got in trouble. Because it's legal. Plus they would have to look in your transactions history and thats illegal becausr that violates your right to privacy. So all you're doing is buying and selling. Nothing illegal, it aint like hacking or modding

@hodgEbeatz11 you are correct, it's not illegal. It's cheating!
Cheating involves a video game player using a non-standard method to create an advantage beyond normal game play, in order to make the game easier. Cheats come in all forms, some examples are; cheat codes, third party software and/or hardware, exploring software bugs and in game hacks.
Purchasing coins is 100% cheating!! Anyone that has purchased coins to give themselves an advantage in this game, deserves to be banned indefinitely.
Let's use the board game Monopoly as an example really quick. You start the game off with $1,500 for each player. It's not illegal to take more money from the bank. It's not illegal to position the Chance and Community cards so that the next draw works to your advantage. It's also not illegal to purposely move your token more or less moves than you rolled on the dice. You won't find any of these written in the rules as being illegal. You won't even find written in the rules that it's considered cheating. However, just because it's not written doesn't mean it's not cheating!
- Anonymous8 years agoNot all of us are denying what happened, or that it was/wasn't against policy, but some communication about how long the 'soft ban' is would help the cause. They aren't following through on what their support is telling us when we call or open cases either. I know I won't be buying coins outside the game in the future because I love the game too much to get my AH closed on me again.
