Forum Discussion
I logged into the game this morning and received the following notice:
PENALTY FLAG
WARNING
This account has been found in violation of the User Agreement and has had its coins reduced and access to the Auction House temporarily disabled. Further breaches may result in additional actions taken against this account up to and including banning the account.
My coins have been reduced to 100,000 from between 1.5million and 2million.
I do not understand this. I am a clean player. I have not purchased coins. I only have one account and have not made any kind of transfers. The coins I had were coins that I earned through legitimate grinding (I'm a level 73) and perfectly normal activity in the Auction House.
I have submitted a ticket to Customer Service. In past experiences, they have requested that I post on these forums, so I'm doing so.
This is extremely frustrating. If I cannot find out from EA why I was penalized and if I cannot get my coins and AH access restored, I think I am done with this game.
UPDATE: I just received 1.5 million back from EA. I have no idea if that's everything they took, because I didn't take a screenshot last night. But it's pretty close. I still can't access the AH, but it's at least a good sign.

@hodgEbeatz11 you are correct, it's not illegal. It's cheating!
Cheating involves a video game player using a non-standard method to create an advantage beyond normal game play, in order to make the game easier. Cheats come in all forms, some examples are; cheat codes, third party software and/or hardware, exploring software bugs and in game hacks.
Purchasing coins is 100% cheating!! Anyone that has purchased coins to give themselves an advantage in this game, deserves to be banned indefinitely.
Let's use the board game Monopoly as an example really quick. You start the game off with $1,500 for each player. It's not illegal to take more money from the bank. It's not illegal to position the Chance and Community cards so that the next draw works to your advantage. It's also not illegal to purposely move your token more or less moves than you rolled on the dice. You won't find any of these written in the rules as being illegal. You won't even find written in the rules that it's considered cheating. However, just because it's not written doesn't mean it's not cheating!
- Anonymous9 years agoNot all of us are denying what happened, or that it was/wasn't against policy, but some communication about how long the 'soft ban' is would help the cause. They aren't following through on what their support is telling us when we call or open cases either. I know I won't be buying coins outside the game in the future because I love the game too much to get my AH closed on me again.
- Anonymous9 years agoAnd theres alot of people that didnt buy coins and still got banned
- Anonymous9 years agoUsing this logic, you could consider purchasing madden cash “cheating”
