Event Bundle packs

Why are we getting punished for buying the TOTY bundle packs early? I bought mine in the first few days of the event and save them til the end when I want to decide who I want to select for an iconic. However when I opened my select packs they don’t allow me to select all the players. I only get to select the players that were released when I bought the pack… so no one I want to select for an iconic which kind of defeats the whole purpose of buying a select epic pack and really annoys me. It should be stated in the pack if you are only going to be able to select the players that are currently released and not all the players in the event. I’m assuming this is going to happen with my iconic select I paid for as well so I am getting ready for that disappointment as well. Really turning me off from this game.
