Failed to initialize EA service(s) - madden mobile

Hi, I’m having a problem where I can’t launch madden mobile 21 or fifa mobile on my iPad, I can enter my age and tap to start but then a dialogue box appears saying “failed to initialize EA service(s)” and this happens repeatedly no matter what I try.

Since this is for madden and a similar message appears for fifa there must be a problem with my device and the EA servers I guess?

I have tried hard restarting my iPad, deleting and reinstalling the app, clearing the cookies etc. from safari in settings and waiting for 3 days but no luck! 

The iPad is a 6th generation running iPadOS 14.2 (updated recently before the issues but I was able to play on the new software before it stopped working). 

I can’t access the online chat despite that being requested by EA help in their email response :/
