You can change the defensive player you control by swiping left or right (on an empty part of screen) to cycle through them.

- Yeah that works but why did it change? Before I could just touch who I wanted and it was a lot faster and better. Is there any way I can change back to that? What I really don't understand is why mine is that way and others are not.
- You may be right about the update. All the ones I know of that can still click on the player have Apple phones. I hate the scrolling through players. It was way better before when you could just click. Hopefully this gets changed back because it is really annoying.
I can’t do anything before the snap. Stuck like chuck.
- @23kyd I haven't tried scrolling but I can't click on who I want anymore and it's infuriating, annoying and completely changes the way I play defense.
Not cool. Bring the old way back please. I don't know why you are changing things like that but won't change some of the fundamental things that we have been asking. - @d3fc102ee3a0ff6f I am on iOS. I tried both clicking and scrolling but nothing works. I cannot change players at all! Whichever the player the game assigns, I’m stuck with that player during the whole time...
I’m having the same issues as well. I reported it as a bug.... ever since the update the other day. This is aggravating/annoying

A new update dropped yesterday with Most Feared and crash fixes, but @EA_Messina mentioned on the stream today at 36:22 how the team is aware of defensive players not switching pre-snap. 👍*Marking this as solved for visibility purposes. The team is actively investigating this to be fixed*
Someone accidentally activated a 3 and a half year old post. The problem is similar, in that you cannot select a defensive player, and it came with the most recent update. But swiping to toggle does not work, nor does selecting the player, like it did until yesterday.
@EA_Messinaand @EA_Blueberry I updated to the latest for Madden Mobile on Android 10 and I'm still getting the same crashes before and after all events. Looks like the update didnt help that.

It needs to be changed back so.... it won't be.
I can’t change my defensive player pre snap. After the snap I can with the switch button which moves you to the closest player, which I do not always want
