The achievement should register for you. The thing that seems to be causing confusion for people is that they are confusing Point After Attempts (Extra Points worth 1 point) for Field Goals (worth 3 points). Make sure you are kicking Field Goals and not Extra Points after touchdowns. It also should not matter the game mode (I got it to register in season mode and Overdrive, for example).
