Why cant I Jam when playing zone?

The game only allows me to jam while playing man, all I can do in zone is walk the secondary up to press. The user controlled player action of jamming doesn't occur when pressing X in zone, all I can do is try to get in the receivers path to cut the him off to re-route him.
