most likely won't happen. But the next game, it does need to be worked on.
I've always been bugged by ME games, where it's very script like. Where if you forget to talk to someone after 5 main missions, you have to hear something that doesn't relate to what is going on until you talk to them again 4 more times. But after that, nothing really is said other than a hey.
I kinda wished for a number of years now that other games would act as real competition to ME change the world based on your actions. But sadly, ME is the only major game type other than Skyrim that does this.

Before the game launched bioware did promise a couple of things to make it more realistic, some were delivered but it's still the same boring mechanics of having ticks in the checkbox before getting to bang. A previous article here with promises from bioware: http://www.gameinformer.com/b/features/archive/2016/11/18/mass-effect-andromeda-39-s-new-approach-to-romance.aspx

And only out of all the romances even get a sex scene ... rest are off screen anyways.
Just made it to the first kiss in Jaal's romance and I can not stress enough how much better this romance is with chemistry the lot than Liam's entire romance was and Im not even at the Jaal sex scene yet.
So disappointed in how most of the romances were handled this time. So much so I think I wont pre-order the next game. Will wait and see if the next games romances are done better first.
Human Male - Female Protag romancable thats actually a proper romance please bioware!
Not a creepy one nightstand - zero kisses and chemistry before suddenly hey lets get serious kk?
Bioware you are better than this. *sigh*

No game ever does this, sure skyrim comes close, but that game's quest system is atrocious, all bioware games tend to not have any choices that impact the story as heavily as they hint at, it ultimately goes by the last choice of the story arc, which tends to render everything you do prior to that choice.....absolutely pointless.
The stories are awesome, don't get me wrong, but the endings is where the story just....dies.

Fo4 was very good in story but they don't do cinematic so although there was romances it was all talk, no visual (kisses etc)
The story was awesome though. The first non-bioware rpg I have played in a long time that I really enjoyed and played more than once.

I was just thinking how in Mass Effect romances are like thermal clips. You have them for the mission and when the job is done you toss them to the side.
Seriously though little things can be done for now in the short term. Rig up a little program where you can email messages back and forth (don't have to worry about getting your voice actors back in the studio). use all the romance scenes and set to random play. Just replaces the meshes and textures .. keep the animations. Hell even use the animations from the previous ME Games. You'll have enough to keep things random.
Add a few more items to serve as gifts or alter the value of a base item to act as a gift. I.e Research points can be a gift for Suvi because she loves science. Liam can get movies and games, etc.
Voice acting is very expensive-hundreds to thousands of dollars a session for high end voice actors. .I mean they have everything there that can make this work somewhat. But if enough people actually want a more in-depth romance system then as a developer I say give the people what they want. They'll buy it, sales will go up, and investors will be happy because sales are going up.
