ANDROMEDA Multiplayer Patch

not a question but an observation.  Most players who've expressed an opinion on Multiplayer find the weapons (and most powers)  to be extremely weak and in need of buffs in the region of 50-100%, maybe more.  This patch gave us about 5% buufs while enemies were made deadlier - Outlaw snipers got a 44% damage boost - where are the significant PLAYER weapon buffs.

If Bioware think I'm going to buy DLC or support this game in any way they are deluded.

I was playing another game with a few friends when the patch notes came out and one of them asked if he should buy Andromeda  - my reply was "no, god no".

I really don't trust Bioware to balance weapons in Multiplayer as they've shown they are completely unaware of the problems with weapon-balance.  For their own reasons Bioware want weapons and player-abilities to be weak.  If they don't acknowledge that there is a problem then no amount of balance changes will make a difference.  Players want significant buffs, Bioware don't, so there can be no improvement in balance.

I'm done with this game and I suspect I'm not alone

THEY MADE THE MULTIPLAYER EVEN WORSE WITH THIS PATCH!!!!!!!I do not think they have played the multiplayer at all for mass effect 3 or mass effect andromeda.  They see that people are spamming the punch button and so they decide to nerf it.  People were not spamming it because it was overpowered,THEY SPAMMED IT BECAUSE NONE OF THE OTHER OPTIONS ARE VERY EFFECTIVE.  NOTHING SHOULD HAVE BEEN NERFED.  And why are they buffing lower tier guns only when only a handful of the top tier weapons are useful?  Are they under the impression that most rare guns are where they should be as far as damage output? Tell me one of their developers fired the scattershot point blank at an adhi or raider, saw there was a tiny sliver of health removed and decided that is where the weapon should be.   We are talking about a RARE SHOTGUN.  Cooldowns are far too long on abilities, and the combo damage is not enough to take down basic enemies on gold most the time.  Is 20 seconds to take down the raider, one of the weakest enemies in multiplayer with abilities only what they are aiming for?  And there is no room for casual multiplayer like there was in mass effect 3.  Bronze in andromeda is harder than silver in mass effect 3. I think they should have stuck with the four difficulty levels as mass effect 3 and kept them comparable.  Weapon damage, enemy damage, power damage and cooldown(trickier with a system change but still WAY OFF the old mark currently.)  You had a dedicated fan base in multiplayer for mass effect 3 because it was so well balanced and chucked that formula in the trash for this game.  Please bring back reduced recharge for infiltrators that break cloak to attack shortly after deploying,  Otherwise it is only fun to use to run away from enemies or revive your teammates.

As a player who spend >100 hours and have 7k+ APEX rating on ME:A multiplayer, I'm disappointed at what they call "balance" for multiplayer in patch 1.05.

Viable options on Gold difficulty are still way too few, only a few guns are decent enough for multiplayer. All they did is to "buff" weak guns for an insignificant amount; most powers are still too underwhelming to use. Melee, one of the very few viable options on silver/gold, is nerfed. If there is no major change to the balance, I wonder how long can the multiplayer last...

They should not cancel the test for multiplayer before release. Well, at least they tried, but there's way more to change.
  • it's balanced on bronze.

    Not on Silver or Gold.

I'd go so far as to say the weapons and powers are all tuned specifically for bronze.

I've just hit 8000 Apex rating and it's very clear to me that this is the case. The update did not address Assault Rifles in any meaningful way for difficulties higher than bronze.

Every Semi-Auto AR is useless on Gold, with a level 20 character.

Every Full Auto and Burst fire AR is the same with varying degrees - takes at least an entire clip to kill one unshielded unarmoured mob.

    Every Pistol the same.

    Not sure about Shotguns.

At the moment i'm using the raptor Sniper rifle as an assault rifle. And it's adequate.

being able to use all of the weapons or basically, having a choice of them on gold would be great, but right now, that's not how it's working. Which is kind of depressing, and frustrating given how much obvious work has gone into the multiplayer.

Agreed, ultra rare weapons like n7 crusader, n7 valkyrie, Soned, Dhan... Are just underwhelming when compared to vanquisher, black widow, raptor and melee. It would get boring fast with only a few viable weapons on Gold. N7 piranha, in my opinion is the only decent shotgun on Gold, still too weak tho.

At this point,  I'd expect them to nerf Sniper rifles next rather than make anything else viable.

They also really need to patch Data Transfer.   It seems to be literally impossible when soloing.  It's hard enough just to survive trying to transfer,  but they just had to make it pause when an enemy is nearby?   Then drain at twice the rate it increases when you step away?   AND give you a time limit?    It looks like it'd take around 30+ seconds just to finish one transfer at least,  if uninterrupted.  I'm not sure there's even enough time on the clock to do it let alone with all the other bs.    Am I doing something wrong here or what I could have sworn I watched a video with someone doing data transfer solo on gold,   where as I just lost because of Data Transfer in the last wave before extraction (I think extraction was next at least).  Making me waste 30 minutes.  I couldn't make any progress at all.  It's absolutely ridiculous.

They missed the point that most people use melee and sniper rifles on Gold because they are the only things that deal real damage on Gold, not because they are overpowered. The problem with silver/gold is not they are too hard to beat, it's the problem of bullet sponge which makes the match boring.
But it seems that the devs see these problens in a wrong way. They should buff other trash tier stuff to be competent instead of nerfing something which is just viable but not op. (Melee, IMO, is fine as it was before the patch.)

(Reply to the previous reply) Data transfer in wave 6 is annoying when my teammates are suck.
