I'm going to give Bioware the benefit of the doubt,
Perhaps they are scrambling to salvage their reputation,
maybe too scared to make anymore promises they can't deliver.
I've been gaming for a very long time now,
I've never seen a triple A title from a seasoned developer released in such disarray.
- Crash to desktop is one thing, computers rebooting? That's laughable if it wasn't so terrible.
- Sudden random loss of audio.
- Level transitions/Saves not loading
Every game has its bugs, but these can only be described as game-breaking critical failures.
A buggy and bad launch is a bad.
Whatever.
Stuff gets rushed out the door all the time because of the bureaucrats, marketing and hard deadlines.
No timely bug fixes?
Worse.
In addition to what is clearly a lack communication?
How does that even happen for a seasoned developer AND a seasoned publisher?
Frankly, I'm not sure if I should feel more anger or shame by proxy at how poorly this is all being handled.
This leaves me with a very foul taste in my mouth
and questioning if I threw away $90 on a game I may never be able to play.
Should I blame EA? Bioware?
