They wouldn't promise fixes until the patch is done and tested to work properly. They could fix something in theory but then it could not implement correctly or break something else, and they won't know until all the work is done. They gave a couple of hints on twitter of things likely to be fixed (like the tier VIII equipment bug) but don't expect more than that.
OK, let's see what is happening now: "The game is out. It is expensive but it is great. We do know that some people believe there are bugs in it. We are planning to investigate if there are really bugs in it. Perhaps in the next few months. And then perhaps we will fix them. Perhaps in another few months. But You know, no promises, since we want to be perceived as professionals and we always keep our word. And probably there are not even significant bugs at all, so do not worry. We are almost sure there are no bugs. If some people have issues with the game it is probably because their rig is only barely above what we promised to be minimum requirements for the game, or perhaps it is because of some odd configuration of OS that we promised to be fully supported. At the same time we do promise that we will make Hainly's dialogues more straight... Or, oh, we should say: less straight. Soon. Really soon. This is our priority, since there are exactly 3 people on Earth that believe that Hainly is too open for a trans. We know that they are not going to play the game - ever - but we still find it to be our duty to satisfy them immediately."
And now let's give a try to what I believe should be happening now: "The game is out. It is huge, and to be sincere it is so huge that we were not able to iron out all the bugs from it prior to release. We do acknowledge that there are many bugs, fortunately majority of them very minor. There are some major ones as well that some gamers suffer, and we do make it our priority to fix those first. We do have a list of all acknowledged bugs that is kept on X. If You see any other bugs, please let us know by posting on Y. We will check on Your posts and will update X weekly. We do work hard to fix all the bugs ever since game's release, and we do promise that we will try to fix all of them, though we cannot give exact date when it will happen. We will be marking acknowledged bugs on X with priority levels, to make it clear to You on which bugs we are going to work first, and on which we are going to work last. We will probably be deploying some small patches for easy bugs - like quest script updates - in short intervals, but if for some reason we have doubts or if we need to do some more testing, they will be batched into larger updates. We do hope that our next large patch will be in two months, and that it will cover all the major issues. If there are any problems with that, e.g. because those bugs are more problematic to resolve than we anticipated or because our QA department needs to give them more tests, we will let You know immediately. We are also going to work on some further improvements, and those are listed on X as well. Fixing bugs is our priority, but in many cases work on improvements can be conducted in paralel, so do not worry! Thank You in advance for Your patience, and we really do hope that You like our game. We promise You that we will work hard for the next few months to make You like it even more!"
Seriously, there are no "hard" promises in my version of the announcement, but I am quite sure it would make a lot of EA clients happier, and much less concerned about future of MEA. I guess it would also make it a bit easier for some people to risk their money on MEA now rather than to wait until actual patches are deployed.
