Anyone else think the Asari consort is the benefactor?

The Asari consort seems to be the most reasonable choice to be the benefactor. in ME1 she gives Shepard a trinket that she has held onto for years because she knows someone will need it in the future. She is presentiment or has precognition. She knows something very bad is coming and Shepard needs to stop it. She is also absent in ME3. She has to be extremely wealthy and very well connected.

Asari need all the other species to mate. Yes, they can mate with each other but they risk having offspring that can't reproduce. The matriarchs knew about the prothean weapon yet kept it a secret until they were about to be destroyed.  Maybe when the asari ambassador signs off by saying she needs to make sure life goes on she is actually making sure the fifth ark has left with more Asari aboard? That would be interesting.

Note all the asari commandos on the Nexus doing absolutely nothing but following Ryder around? Is that just because the devs wanted commandos wandering the Nexus or is it more telling. Someone is actually watching Ryder.

My memory isn't the best, but somewhere it talks about an unknown asari helping a human male instigate or take part of the Nexus uprising. The human dies but the asari disappears. Was there a matriach that actually died? If so, was that the consort? Did we ever know the consort's name?

A second set of arks sounds really interesting. My brain doesn't work as well as it used to but to keep a species genetically viable, that is to say, to have all of the genome available without significantly changing the species. You need 10% of the population. Remember the California Condors? There were not enough of them to keep the species evolving the same way but they went ahead and saved them. There are so few cheetahs, that you can do a skin graft from one living in a zoo to one living in the wild and there is no chance of rejection. I suppose you could check everyone's dna and not let duplicate/family join. Or keep it to a minimum to avoid suspicion.

I would like to think that if they don't have new arks coming, someone that believed Shepard smuggled a ton of frozen embryos. I could see the fifth ark having additional asari, krogan, salarian, human and turian smuggled aboard. Especially if it leaves as the Reapers are arriving.

Aria being the benefactor would be fun. Shepard getting blitzed in the Citadel bar only to wake up with Aria watching over them not saying a word was just a great moment in ME3 I thought. No judgement, just protection.

I think the bigger mystery is Benefactors motivations now that they are in Andromeda. What possible reason would he/she/it/they have to get rid of Jien Garson. She alone couldn't have been that much of a threat. What's the BIG secret?

If I can't trust you alive I'll have to trust you dead. One obvious secret is that if Jian Garson wasn't lost to the scourge, who and what else wasn't either, and where are they now? I'll have to review that mission, but I think it's possible her entire murder mystery bit may have happened before anyone was supposed to be awake, so it was only benefactor (or other) people running around. I know there were a lot of top-of-the-line guns, gear, people and Pathfinder ships that were marked missing or destroyed when everyone woke up, and Garson could have raised awkward questions.

Also, I give at least 10% chance that her murder was faked. "O God! O God! They're coming! I should just hop out of my hidden panic room and take a nap on the bed."

Final Conspiracy bit: what if the Benefactor isn't the only one moving in the shadows? Alec obviously has his own operations going, TIM is certainly going to try and assure human dominance is not limited to the Milky Way (especially if Cora were his daughter), good chance one or more Shadow Brokers sent people, and who the heck allowed Knight and those Cerberus scientist nutjobs along?
