@EA_Mako I think that is a problem that a loud minority of users elevated the lies she is racists and new players barely get to see her proper character development (there is even an article that calls her grandfather a General Lee for how racists and incompetent he is and I was left with my chin in the floor, sadly new gamers read that and don't think to research by their own accord, seems there is unneeded fan reaction on one side and the other) and yes, the aliens in ME1 overshadowed the human companions and Bioware thankfully implemented those lessons in ME2 despite the fact there were more aliens versus humans as squadmates, then we recruited Legion.
I am still sore players only had a cameo appearance with A/K in ME2 and not having the option of going to Anderson after the Collectors Base requesting a meeting with the Council to show them the evidence, it could go like this:
Shepard is contemplating the Harbringer datapad and asks if he should deliver a copy of his mission to the Council and Anderson (which the player can choose to go or not), if Mordin and Samara survived it is almost guaranteed that the Council concedes how wrong and blind they were, if Legion was recruited and taken to the Collectors Base mission he could show them video evidence (built in camera) and provide vital information regarding the Geth, the Collectors Base fate could tip the trust of A/K and everyone who doubted him to his side while conserving it will trigger angry reactions (the governments would really be sorry they aren't the ones with the Base and the VS would be mad at how we trusted TIM), after the meeting we return to the Normandy and meet up with A/K who beat us there and we are told the Alliance authorized a mission to research the 37M year old cannon and the Reaper corpse and since the Normandy SR-2 is the only ship authorized to go there they will go in the ship (this can serve to end the relation there and then or start mending it so we don't get the rushed conflict we got in ME3, unless we ignore this entire questline and we get what we got in ME3). No other missions can be completed (so do Overlord before the quest chain starts in order to get more comments if you saved David, or left him), much like what happens with Liara but in this case we can travel to places like Tuchanka and Omega with her (the reason no other missions can be completed are because Shepard can't risk mixing them on things like LoTSB, Arrival, Overlord, etc as they are in official Council business).
I know it was a long read but that could have solved an issue with narrative pacing, if players complete this quest chain then Arrival would be even more tragic for Shepard as if we are rebuilding our relation with A/K either if it is: continue the LI (with permutations), drop the LI and be friends, stay barely friends or be friends and a meetup they agree upon later gets cut short by the DLC events (or the Alliance charging Shepard for being with Cerberus) and they tell the VS to focus on carefully researching the Reapers, if they agreed upon a more formal date we get Shepard breaking the news to either of them and afterwards that the conversation ends and the screen fades to black Shepard collapses in the floor with various tears in his eyes and we get a similar image as the camera switches to A/K.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
