Big grab attacks, any way to get out of them?

I wasn't even looking for them. It was every man for himself.
In single player I just run and keep max range while shooting them. In multiplayer I just hope to god someone will cobra. I usually cobra to save teammates if I can since its a big target anyway might as well save someone while using a cobra.

once i was caught in an ascendants barrier, which i presume to be insta kill but to my surprise i was left with 2-3% of HP ,I was just playing with adept profile, maybe it was a glitch? (on insanity difficulty)
- I made a small mod that disables Fiend, Adhi and Breacher Sync grabs.
Because those are just annoying!
