Bug Report - Overkill Skill Heat Buildup

Playing Mass Effect 1 (Legendary Edition) on PS5. When using the Master Overkill ability, it purges assault rifle heat buildup on activation but does not stop or reduce heat buildup after that and does not seem to increase damage. I assume the other tiers of overkill may be affected but I didn’t notice the issue until I unlocked master overkill.
