Can't access save files on PS3

I am playing through the Mass Effect Trilogy on Playstation 3.  I played through Mass Effect 1 no problem.  And I also finished a complete play through (which took 57 hours) on Mass Effect 2.  I then bought and installed the "Arrival" DLC.  When I played the "Arrival DLC", something happened to my saves.  I could only choose New Game or Resume from the front menu.  My character profile would come up fine, but there would be no save files associated with the game.   I know the save file is there.  I've found it under save data in the XMB menu.  Just when I try and access it in game, it shows nothing.  Also, when I try to import my character to MS3, the same thing happens.  It can find the profile, but can't find any save data to load, so I can't import my save to MS3.  

Is there anyway to fix this?  What are my options?  I was really looking forward to seeing how my choices I made in ME2  effect the story in MS3.
