Can't download patch 1.05 ... Origin gives up with error 7049:403

Turned off my anti-virus.

Checked firewall settings.

Opened TCP/UDP ports listed on origin site.

But nope, nothing working. I had issues with previous patches too. Had to download those using VPN software (hot-spot-shield). But this patch is not downloading with or with out it. Sometimes its starts download but stays at 0% with 0 Kbps & sometimes it stuck at "checking for update".

Any help?

    Solved by myself.

    1. Updated origin to latest beta version.

    2. Activated hot spot shield.

    3. Updated game to latest patch.

    WARNING : with previous stable version of origin I could play Mass Effect 3 : multilayer (with my previous patch 1.04) but that was not possible with beta version, which kept asking to update the game. So I recommended you to complete current weekend challenge of Mass Effect 3 : MP with current version just to be safe.

    I am also getting the same problem. At first I had it download and install the patch. It'd show a progress bar where it's stuck at 100% for a few minutes, but then it installed without problem eventually. I was able to play a few MP games, then restarted the PC. Now, when I log back in, it tries to download and install the update again, but this time, it stops with the same error message after a few minutes.

    Anybody? how come this update wasn't tested in advance? it's obviously messed up.
