Can't shoot for 2 seconds after using power in ME1

Everytime I use an ability, for around 2 seconds, I cannot fire my gun or switch guns. It doesn't matter if the ability is offensive or defensive, my character is stuck and I can't aim (zoom) or fire...

Update: the new update has NOT fixed this. I can't play the game until this is fixed, since I'm playing adept and it causes me to die because I can't shoot!
