Well, I'm an amateur bodybuilder so I sort of expect a protagonist to be a bit ... robust and fit and muscled a bit more when they happen to try a sleevless or tank top on them. Scott is too scrawny:
He looks physically vulnerable (not to mention their posture, hunched, tense shoulders, head forward, what the hell; even bandy-legged deformed aliens have better posture). Players, such as myself (I'm not speaking ALL players, for Godsake), sometimes want their protagonist sort of reflect ourselves, of course, just like everyone else. Then I got this feeling of fragility aura about Scott which I didn't get much from Shepard, even Shepard only being an average model in ME3 setting, but Shepard felt more threatening somehow.
Then they give scrawny Scott a sleevless clothing, it really ... amplifies the Scrawny Effect. So, no, didn't like the attire for Scott. For Sarah it's ok, but I don't play with her.
As for what I would want to have ... hm, casual outfit, suit mafia, cheerleader, 1930's dress, farmer, tango dancers. Many things would appease me at this stage. Even clowns, because we surely can make clowns in the current character creator.

Shep was more threatening because they stormed to wherever they were going. I could practically hear the footstomping.
Clown outfit would be seriously funny.
Something that looked like a scout, hiking, climbing, or an outdoorsy outfit would be nice. I thought they were scouts/explorers.
And then, just because, bib-overalls. Sara's could be cutoffs. 🥳

Yeah, that too, hohoho, but he did look more threatening and imposing. And he wasn't even that bulky either, but he had some posture about him, you see.

Is that allowed?

Well you need to take into account that he is just out of cryostasis, so there could be some loss of muscle mass 😉
But I totally agree with you, Shepard had much more of a soldier look to him which was cool, but then again he was an old dog, a professional soldier, whereas I think they wanted Ryder to have more of a rookie feel to him, to better get you into the mindset of someone completely unprepared for the task of being a Pathfinder 🙂

No no no no no! that's just as bad as what they just gave us, has to be Sci-Fi or nothing at all, don't want this to turn into another SWTOR or WoW, NO SANTA SUITS! 😃

Well, let's say one could be a bit stiff, but not really lose mass. We actually don't even know how stasis work in the game, after so many talks regarding Krogan stuff and their harnessing against the genophage. 600 years is a long time. They could as well lose a lot of mass and get to Andromeda as just a chunk of hair and nails, hohoho. But regarding bulkiness, Ryder just needs, at this point, looks less like he's flinching from life itself, you see.
And yes, I know those options are not at all so appealing, but at this point and at my current humor regarding the game, they can basically throw anything on them, even if they make a drag queen costume for Scott.

Well we are now beginning to have working tools, so it is only a matter of time before you will start seeing fixes for some of this stuff, after all us modders work a lot faster than developers do for some reason 🤔
As soon as I have the model export / import tools figured out I'll start hammering out fixes, with or without BW and EA we will make this game great :eahigh_file:

First of all, they already gave Scott a jacket straight out of the original Battlestar Galactica to be embarrassed about. Secondly, style-wise, everything Sci-fi eventually looks like something back on good old Earth. Last, it is important to remember that "in space, no one can hear you scream.... about what you wear"

I like most of these. How about Han Solo outfit with blaster, Royal navy turtleneck and slacks with artillerist's stripes, 1950's men's/women's casual outfits, cargo pants and Blood Dragon T-shirt, military fatigues, Mal's Browncoat outfit, the dress from the "good morning" song from Singin' in the Rain

I'd like a bra for my gay male ryder. Just kidding 😃
