1. The story of ME:A is not particularly bad, but it's definitely missing storytelling flavor: voice acting, tone, mood, etc. That's why it seems lighter. There are a few tense moments, such as Asari, Salarian Arc, that i can recall right now. But overall the game doesn't pull enough emotional state on the player, it's not as engaging as previous MEs.
2. Yes, dialogues need better acting, at least the main story and some main quests.
3. I don't really mind how Ryder is. Different type of person, not military, new to leadership, diplomacy, has some humor, sarcasm 🙂
The thing here is that the setup is new, "Ryder & co" arrived in an unknown galaxy, they are not established yet, facing the unknown, finding ways to deal with it. Resources are also limited. Age doesn't bother me either. You can have all sorts of ages... IF its well acted and screen played. Mostly that's whats missing here. Probably the tension in Andromeda will grow in the next game, and we will have stronger engaging moments, more authority, more problems, more threats to deal with.

Yeah, that needs to be stressed. I think what's lacking is the complexity of characters, regardless one's profile, if humorous or not, and when they were designing the game, it looked like too many silly and cannon stuff was added without reason, joking with the product, giving it an air of carelessness I cannot really pinpoint exactly, but it's there.
