I really feel like the team doesn't FULLY take in the seriousness of the plot (both in game AND back in Montreal). Yeah you are some noob little spitfuck that has no real knowledge of the situation...but regardless BOTH Ryder's and Alec had some form of formal training from the Alliance. This laxxed "I don't know what to do" attitude is mind numbingly boring, and I think the real reason behind that is because WE lack an ACTUAL Para/Ren system. It down plays the story as bland because of that, AND because no matter what you say the other option says the EXACT SAME THING. I'd rather play as a gd Krogan.
Drack has probably the most character and best quotes among the crew members so comparing him to Liam is not a good comparison although Liam aint that bad character as many people think but whatever, its just my opinion.
Your crew here consists mostly of people with the same age like you, simply because at that age they thought its a good thing to start a new life somewhere else. Which is why Alec brought the team together like that, young people usually having better ideas, more keen to explore and try new things. Because thats when people do the stupidest, craziest things, as we get older many habits die, we get sloppier and so on. Obviously they are not dedicated veterans/warlords (Wrex), person with perfect genes (Miranda), a justicar (Samara) or the craziest biotic in the galaxy (Jack) just to name a few. But thats the point, now you start from 0 with your team and get more and more insight of whats going on around you instead of getting a crew full of professionals and a hero like Shepard, which is why its not called ME4.
There is a paragon/renegade system, called quick time events. For example shooting the Cardinal, shooting Reyes, hugging Cora - in the trilogy the previous 2 would be marked with red icon, while the last one blue. Its even telling you what's gonna happen.

Yeah, I've said it before, Drak is really good at acting. Even if the lines are simple, he knows how to make them sound good 🙂 Vetra too, Turians in general. But the Asari not really. I remember many Asari having way better tones in previous ME: Consort, Liara, Nassana Dantius, the Asari Spectre, the police officer when recruiting Samara, Aria, even the Asari at stores or assistants. I understand these are younger, but they have different tones, tempers.... i don't know... just missing something

to bad me 3 was the worse in the series trainwreck of a storyline bioware: choices matter ...... bioware: wait not they don't trolled ya .... knowing trollware the 4th ending will be the canon one which means the cycle contiunes and everyone died would explain the lack of reply to the arrival beacon

in just about any me3 ending the galaxy was pretty much a total mess, there might not be enough people left after the reaper war who were aware of the initiative in the first place. though i guess there's still liara, but perhaps she forgot after 600 years, or was killed during the beam run? so it's quite possible the milkyway isn't looking for a signal from andromeda, and not just because no one's left to hear it. and if you're not looking for something, you're not very likely to find it, are you? i'm also guessing the initiative was going to use QECs to keep in contact with the milkyway, some how... honestly i'm not sure how that whole QEC com-system even works, with the multiple feeds and connections, and uplinks, etc.

After 600 years anything could have happened in the MW. Maybe they are all at war with each other or the rachni or the krogan eventually no matter your choice (because 600yrs!) got cured and they are fighting them. Or all the QE devices were outdated and removed. It could literally be anything.
