I get it - 3 games in 1, some time consuming work to polish some things, make the game 4K, gameplay changes, etc. But still... for owners of all 3 games, in deluxe versions, with all (or most at least) not giving at least a discount? It is pure EA, simple as that. I didn't even expect it to be free - I would pay gladly up to $14.99, as a token of my appretiation for work put into this release, as a thank you that I don't have to install 3 games separately, juggle with mods, etc. But full price for long time fans? I don't even want to start with the list of known games and their developers that were given remasters for free for all current owners... But I will mention the latest example - Disco Elysium. They made all game voiced-over... and this game is all about text, for crying out loud... you think it was cheap for them? And yet they gave it for free! During pandemic!
@CrolugYou are so wrong in any aspect...
I think I already said this, it's just like a video CD which now got remastered and sold on Blu-Ray. Even if it is same movie, there are 2 different products. And let's not start to compare EA/BW/MELE with another names because it's easy to ignore that EA also did some giveaway (and without pandemic reason).

As an owner of all the Mass Effect games and DLC this is a slap in the face, the Origin platform has become the Betamax of game distribution, deleted and corrupted cloud saved, lost back up saves, slow download, slow to non existent support. I was willing to over look this as a massive fan of the Mass Effect series, BUT giving no discount, NO extra DLC or in game item to acknowledge the players how supported the series from day one is an insult. Literary NOTHING to reward the loyal fans. At this point I'm no longer buying anything on the Origin platform and Bioware can suck it. I'm wealthy now, not like when I was a poor student and spent my hard earnt savings on the original games because I wanted to support this type of game. I played ME1 as a hacked game at a mates place and opted not to take a copy but BUY the game as I was such a fan. Not any more. EA and Bioware, you have lost me. The knife is deep.

Heh, and now Steam sent me an email a few days ago with a 34% discount (€39,59) for "Mass Effect: Legendary Edition". Meanwhile the Origin store still has it up at full price of €59,99.
This after I bought the entire Mass Effect trilogy through the Origin store back in the day as well as preordered Mass Effect Andromeda that was suddenly dropped like a sack of potatoes with no DLCs coming out ever because apparently it didn't meet the sales expectations (no wonder as you forced your team to work with an engine they were unfamiliar with and wasn't really meant to be used for those types of games. Crappy "My face is tired" dialogue and lifeless NPCs didn't help either; even though we still had the Quarian Arc teased out there. That was a missed opportunity right there, but then again I guess that's what happens if you let the B-team work on you flasgship title while all the main talent went to some random looter-shooter that is now also dead&buried after you kept insisting that "Anthem Next" was going to happen...until it suddenly didn't. You really bet on the wrong horses threre EA and your customers aren't idiots.
Going back to Mass Effect here. Heck, I still remember buying up those BioWare coins so I could get all the content DLCs (didn't bother with most of the weapon packs and alternate clothing DLCs afaik as I was mainly interested in things that added more missions). Mass Effect was just one of the best trilogies ever created next to KotOR but that upcoming remake is now likely going to get ruined too last I heard because the person they put in charge is some man-hating wierdo who doesn't even like KotOR. It's almost like the gaming industry wants to go bankrupt or something... Well, in the past I would get mad and all but nowadays I just don't csre anymore. I still have my original KotOR 1 and KotOR 2 with the enhancement pack and it's still perfectly playable. So if gaming studios want to lose millions then that'e their choice. I just don't care anymore.
Another thing that EA basically lied about was the Pinnacle Station DLC. They claimed that they looked everywhere but the souce code had been corrupted and that in order to remake it; they would have to spend 3 months. That was a bold-faced lie as they already knew the source code was corrupted years ago as that was the reason it wasn't included in the Playstation release years ago. So they had all these years to recreate it but they just didn't bother. Instead we just got some dude effectively phoning it in pretending how much work they did to try and get the original source material when instead they just sat on their hands the whole time. So instead of spending those 3 months to get the Pinnacle DLC we had some guys wasting their time adjusting camera angles because Miranda's butt was suddenly 'problematic'. It wasn't problematic in the original so I really fail to see why gaming companies let themselves be ruled by a few dozen crazy frogs on social media. Those people weren't going to buy your product anyway so why are you pandering to non-customers?
A real shame too that this Legendary Edition still isn't a Complete Edition as it should have been the Magnum Opus of BioWare. They had all these years to actually do it the right way and instead they intentionaly did absolutely nothing. A real shame EA as you could have surprised all of us by including it all. And don't tell me that Multiplayer was too hard to implement either. Heck, Warframe can easily set up a 'multiplayer-esque arena map so why can't you? Did all the talent leave and remasters of old games is the only thing you sre noe capable of. If so that's a real shame and really shows how far the mighty have fallen. ☹️
Now I know that a lot of people didn't really care too much about the Pinnacle Station DLC but I actually found it quite enjoyable. The reward at the end (the appartment) was pretty awesome too. Not only were you able to restock on grenades for free but that terminal in the living room actually allowed you to get gear that you couldn't otherwise get in the game.I really loved seeing my entire crew all decked out in the same max level Colossus armor with the best mods and omnitools. I'm guessing BioWare/EA didn't even bother to add those items to any of the stores?
Now what would be a great move for EA/BioWare would be to actually make good on their statement and actually recreate Pinnacle Station in the 3 months that they claimed it would take; and then release it as a surprise patch during Christmas or something. EA is currently in a pretty big sump in a lot of people's eyes from what I've seen in news articles so their company could definitely use a good PR move. Actually creating the Pinnacle Station DLC and offering it as a gift to owners of the Legendary Edition would be a step in the right direction and score them at least some points towards redemption. At least I would view it as a good deed; and EA has a lot to make up for after all the stunts they pulled. I still remember them sitting across government officials trying to weasel their way out of the whole lootbox debacle by suddenly calling them 'surprise mechanics'. The whole world just rolled their eyes at that; I can assure you.
So yeah EA/BioWare? If you REALLY want some Paragon points get a small team of experienced coders (if you have any left that is) and recreate the Pinnacle Station DLC. Then release it as a free gift "Surprise Mechanic" during Christmas to everyone so you end 2021 on a positive note. 🙂- holger14054 years agoHero+

It sounds like you are pretty angry. 😉
But the KotOR remake is not a Bioware or EA game, so I see no point in including it in this rant against Bioware.
You're also grossly misinformed about the writer in questions, (And many other things) I would suggest to not believe anything I read on the internet and do at least some basic research.

Would be nice to have some sort of discount as I also bought the base games + DLC's in a lot of cases full retail.
Otherwise I'll just wait for a big discount.
I also believe that part of buying a game is that you can expect the developers to continuously improve the game and not bring the same game out a few years later with improvements and charge again.
Also because it would look strange to have the same game twice in your library.
Anyways my opinion.
