I had no illusions as well getting the remaster for free. First: it's EA. Second: the amount of their investment.
I mean, it's only a remaster. Not a remake. I bought the grand remake of the grand Mafia 1, which was bundled with the remasters of Mafia 2 & 3. This whole package had cost me only 30 bucks. Bravo Take 2. On the other hand, the trilogy of the Mass Effect series costs the double amount of 60 bucks, and its first part isn't a remake, it's only a remaster!
Hypothetically, if EA would give for buying this collection on their house client a cumulative discount, maybe 1 percentage point for each base game and each DLC owned on Origin, it would naturally promote the use of Origin and boost it to a higher level. Origin sales are sales EA doesn't have to share with its competitors. If they want to promote Origin's use, it's a necessity to give loyal customers good vibes. And this means well thought reward structures. Ubisoft and others did a lot of thinking work in this field. For example, Ubisoft gives Units for playing their games (aka achievements) trough its client, which then can be used for buying in-game content (items and missions alike) or a 20% discount code for it's bigger games and addons. EA, on the other hand, has nada, its client only succumbs to a mere means of DRM.
Yeah am upset with EA, not giving us origin loyal customers a discount, at least a 20% for the trilogy we own
Same here. I own this on console and PC, bought the DLC back when it was points and the DLC authentication has gotten more broken over the years on PC and they absolutely should have offered people who own everything a discount at least on PC- console is understandable because much more work. The DLC authentication issues with Mass Effect 2 are the worst of the trilogy and should have long been fixed, not become a worse problem with every reinstall. Various issues went unpatched for years.
Cheap move and I'll match it by buying on Steam. I will still get a copy in my Origin library I can run without Steam like I can Jedi Fallen Order, EA will just lose 30% of the price to Steam and I'll get to take screencaps with ease. I know punishing them would be just waiting but since a friend said I was easily exploited by anything Mass Effect, I can at least make it sting a little.
Yours truly,
A Mass Effect fan who is currently wearing merch, you know like the sort she's happy to buy alongside a Legendary edition release- the kind of fans who are highly skeptical of an official sequel to the trilogy as just another tri coloured knife in Shepard's back and aren't going to preorder the new Mass Effect game without something more than nostalgia set a hundred years in the future.
- @Allison_X5-734 I totally agree, will get it also on steam so they lose the 30% of steam.
I to have a problem with this. I own The Mass Effect Trilogy and all DLC's plus i have Andromeda, now if they had re-made all three games and all the DLC's then i would spend the money but that is not going happen I'll stay with what i have thank you very much.
Like many of you guys i own ME1, 2, 3 and Andromeda. Some remasterd / enhanced games i got for free for owning the original like: Darksiders Warmastered Edition and Divinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Edition. It's EA so i was realistic for not getting it free but a discount for owning all previous ones on there own platform i would have expected 50% off. I got a message from costumer experience that there were no plans for discounts at this moment. Well, you're not getting my money (i'll just rely on my adventures with shepard in my toughts then...)
I have the original trilogy in Xbox 360 and PC Origin with all DLCs.
Also ME Andromeda on PC.
As said by other users we deserve a discount. It's a remaster not a remake.
Please EA listen to your fans!
Thanks!
It seems silly for EA not to offer a discount...if people arent going to buy due to high price then its maths even an idiot can understand:
WOULD YOU RATHER HAVE 50% OF 60£$ OR 100% OF NOTHING?
I own all 3 games and all the DLC.
Steam offers a discount if you bought it there. What about Origin?
"f you purchased Mass Effect 3 from June 11, 2020 when it became available on Steam through May 14, 2021, then the Mass Effect™ Legendary Edition – ME3 Owner Offer is especially for you.
From now until launch, get 17% off the Mass Effect Legendary Edition with the purchase of this Steam-exclusive bundle.
Purchase of this bundle will not remove Mass Effect 3 from your library — if you’ve bought it, it’s yours to keep.:"What about the buyers from Origin or those who bought it via the old Bioware Boards?
There are already a few threads about this...
