EA discontinued online passes. You're probably receiving that message in error. I don't know how to solve the issue, but you may have to contact official support. You can either do that on this page but I find it a bit too customer unfirendly. The easiest method is to download and run the Origin software, go to the help section and select live chat. The EA advisor will need your account name and can manually authorize your account for online play.
I once had a problem on PC where I was asked for an online pass, even though the PC version never even had online passes, and I was able to resolve the issue by following the steps I just described.
