Why craft anything when you can get bestlevel items from multiplayer to singleplayer via the APEX Pathfinder reward boxes. And in NG+ every item you find is level IX at lvl79, i assume it would be X at lvl80. You won´t get enough research data and mats, not to mention character level, in your first playthru to craft the high-end Advanced -level items anyway
Every damn mod i crafted to N7 Valkyrie just made it worse. Beam emitter, the turn-every-projectile-into-sticky-granade, electricity gun. Is so much better with just some shield, ammo etc. mod and keep it regular otherwise. Well the whole N7 Valkyrie ain´t what it was in ME3, N7 Piranha is the thing now \,,/
Yes, I have opened boxes and got no items. I have also only gotten weapons, when I did get items. I also have had that fun bug on NG+ where you don't get any gear between 60 and 70.
I crafted most everything my first Ryder used. Great stuff. I crafted straight out to level X N7 gear, but then I was selective in what I chose to craft.

Ranking weaponry...
What would be like if enemies weaknesses were based on these ranks? For example, SUPPOSE we have to get to level 10 to be able to upgrade weapons to II. Enemies in level 9 would be normally affected by Level I weaponry, and be marginally weaker to Level II and extremely much more weaker against III. Such would be the opposite. Trying to take down an enemy worth of Level V weaponry with a level I would be hard. Differences between levels would be consistent if proper designed. Beyond lv 10-worth-weaponry would stand enemies slightly more resistant than before. Bullet sponges are so waste of time.

Yeah other games I've played have done things like that. I had to kinda of laugh at how rank III actualy requires level 10. As if I had the materials or need to craft anything before level 10. The first two ranks seem completely superfluous.
Bullet sponges are boring but in ME:A I must admit to being more annoyed by the enemy AI. They can move really fast at times and of course that takes a lot of energy so they often have to hide behind cover for two minutes to recuperate.
