Hello there, I bought the Trillogy from Amazon and experienced problems reading from the DVD. I sent them this email first: As you can see it is a trillogy. I have finished the first game, so I w...
The PC discs of the game have a copy protection on them that make it difficult for cheaper DVD drives to read them correctly. I had this issue myself, except that retrying a couple of times seemed to work. If you're on PC, you can always just register the game to Origin and download the digital copy without additional cost, but since bandwidth is a problem for you, you may be out of luck.
P.s.: You seem to adress the other forum users as if they work for BioWare or EA. This is a forum where players help each other out and there is little EA presence here. For official customer support, visit: http://help.ea.com . Not all regions support al contact methods.
Thank you for your response and your suggestions for help. I have 2 copies of the game in my posession, and tried both copies in 3 different PCs, so I don't really think I can do any more in terms of trying again. If the copy protection is the root of the cause, then it's a very poor show. This is the sort of thing that pushes people towards piracy, since they will have none of these issues!
I'm sorry if I have confused my audience here, and I do appreciate your help. If EA provided a simple email address I could write to, then I would have chosen that. But I don't think they want to deal with these kind of emails because they made it very difficult for me to find such an address, if one even exists.
Thanks again for your help Andrew
I actually have the exact smae issue. I bought the trilogy yesterday and wanted to play Mass Effe3ct2 off the bat and ran into this issue. Because I already activated the serial key provided in the Retail box the store I bought if from would not exchange it for me. So I contacted Origin tech support and was able to organize myself a replacement. I just need to send the Retial box with all it's contents to UK tomorrow. I am really dissapointed in EA/BioWare though. I bought this as a novelty item expecting everything to work and then run into issues like this...
Seems like I'm not the only one then... I can't remember a time ever having a brand new DVD fail out of the box like this, and then I get two on the trot for the same game. Either shoddy construction or copy protection I reckon
The thing is this issue is still there form the release date of Mass Effect 2 I remember there was an issue like that back then :/

I don't think people would turn pirate for this specific issue, since both pirates and buyers have to download the same amount of data with a faulty disc, whether it be through torrents or Origin.
