[EA app] Can't Download the DLCs for Mass Effect 3

Hello all,

I just recently bought ME3 to play multiplayer with some friends, but when I go to download the free DLC in order to match theirs, the game says in game purchases are unavailable. I've looked into downloading origin, but when I install it the installer has an error or just prevents me from going online to sign in.

I'm not really sure what the problem is, any help would be appreciated.

Origin is defunct, you should have EA app installed, is that correct?

If yes, what says it under Manage > Manage add-ons about the MP DLCs?

Yes, I'm using the EA app. And all the manage screen it says is I have the extended cut downloaded and installed, but no other DLC shows up for add ons.

    Please clear your temp files:

    • Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time
    • Into the new window, type or copy & paste:  "%temp%"   (Without the quotes.) > hit "ENTER"
    • Now your Windows Explorer should have brought you to the "C:\Users\>your user name<\AppData\Local\Temp" folder. > Delete all files and folders in it.
(If some files or folders can't be deleted, reboot and try again.)

    Then:

    • Make sure EA app and Steam are closed.
    • Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time.
    • Type or copy and paste "%ProgramData%\Electronic Arts\EA Services" (without the quotes) into the new Window > ENTER
    • Move the "License" folder to your desktop.

    Then:

    • Go here and download "Revo Uninstaller". (The freeware version, Portable version works too.)
    • Run "Revo Uninstaller" > Uninstall ME3.
    • At the end of the main uninstall, Revo will ask you which cleaning method you want to use. > Select "Moderate" > Browse
    • If "Remaining registration content found" is displayed > Select All > Delete > Next
    • When "Remaining Data and Folders" is displayed > Select All > Delete
    • Run "Revo Uninstaller" > Uninstall EA app.
    • At the end of the main uninstall, Revo will ask you which cleaning method you want to use. > Select "Moderate" > Browse.
    • If "Remaining registration content found" is displayed > Select All > Delete > Next
    • When "Remaining Data and Folders" is displayed > Select All (Make sure the "Origin Games" folder is not in the list) > Delete.
    • Restart the PC > Reinstall the newest version of EA app from here.
    • Reinstall ME3. > Test.

Followed all the steps and still can't download any of the DLC or even have them appear in the EA app. Guess I'll have to buy a different edition or something.

On second thought, there is no other edition. Guess I can't play MP lol.

The multiplayer feature of Mass Effect 3 original release still works on the PS3, just as long as you have PlayStation Plus subscription as I’ve played on it last year and during Covid lockdown while on my brother in law’s PlayStation account. I believe the multiplayer feature has been removed from the recent release version called Legendary Edition, which has been streamlined for a more single player experience. Did you have subscription for the original EA Origins app and if so, do you have subscription or an online pass on the EA Play app as mentioned by another user who helped you on this thread? If you do have an online subscription for your EA account on the new launcher app, you could try a few things:

    1. Clear the temp folder on the computer, then restart your computer
    2. Install any system updates for your computer, then restart your computer
    3. Uninstall the EA Play app and the game, along with its contents and then restart your computer
    4. Reinstall the EA Play app along with the game and its contents
    5. Wait for it to install. During this time you could check to see if you still have a subscription or online multiplayer pass
    6. Check the game to see if the multiplayer is working
    7. If the issue persists, contact EA Technical Support via EA Help
