Extended Cut DLC

This is a question for Mass Effect 3. I downloaded the Extended Cut DLC after the Attack on Cerberus HQ. The DLC lowers the required Effective Military Strength for the good ending where Shepard survives from 4000 to 3100. I started the Priority: Earth mission with an Effective Military Strength score of over 3200, and he still died. What is wrong?

I know that Cronos Station is the point where your EMS value is locked in, but I'm not sure if installing the Extended Cut afterwards will affect the EMS requirement for the best ending. I'll look into this.

Edit: I believe this tweet confirms that installing the Extended Cut after the Cerberus HQ mission does not lower the required EMS.

"Also - If you replay (as suggested) from before the attack on Cerberus Base, I believe the required EMS is ~3100 to see all scenes." -Michael Gamble (Source)

So in short, you should have installed the Extended Cut before attacking Cerberus HQ or you needed an EMS of 4000 instead of 3100.

  • So at the end of destroy, pretty much after everything, you didn't see a breath taken, and your love interest put up Shepards name??

Did the rest of the DLC play??

    Quote from Wiki:  wiki/Priority:_Earth

If EMS is 3100+ and the Destroy option is chosen, Shepard is seen barely alive, gasping for breath (if Anderson is shot by the Illusive Man, the player needs a higher EMS to see this short scene).

The rest of the DLC played, with the little kid being the AI and whatnot. Shepard, under the control of The Illusive Man, did shoot Anderson.

Fred is right, you need a save game that is set before you hit Cronos Station or you will not have the new EMS values com into effect.

Well after the game credits it dumped me just prior to the attack on Cerberus HQ. so maybe it’ll work now

I have no idea if this will work.

Don't you have a save game made before you hit Cronos station for the first time?

I do not have a save from before Cronos Station, but after all the credits the game put me to before the strike on the station. So if the prior replies are correct, the EMS score is locked after the strike. Maybe it’ll work next time I try. But it’ll be a bit before I try again because now I’m playing Far Cry 5... haha
