Feedback on naming objects

In the game there are items that are quest related and there are some junk around.  Tonnes of items, lots of stuff to lug around...  However there is 1 set of item(or rather 3 sets) that are named Remnant Core.

1) Remnant Data Core that's part of a quest.  Found in vaults etc...  Need to find 9 of them...

2)  Remnant data core that needs to be scanned by SAM at EOS.

3) A whole bunch of remnant cores in loot chest.

This is not a bug and I dont expect you to spend resources fixing this, better spent elsewhere, but please in future, MEA2 ME4, DAI2 any games that you create, seriously can we not use similar names for your items, am currently on my 4th run, no longer confused but could remember my first run I was happy to have picked up like 3 cores at one go just to realise it's something else.

Use names as impacting things, grading them somehow:

    1. Remnant Data Core (this name impacts for the numbers)

    2. Remnant Blackbox (this name impacts for specific situation on EOS)

    3. Remnucleus (this name impacts for the non critical nature of loot, by now you'll have Peebee, so you can borrow her Remtech typo and name these not-so-important items remnucleus, remnuclei)

Only the fact that you use Nucleus instead of Core helps with making a discernible point. I was also very confused while playing the game, or even around here, as people often would prompt questions around Data Cores which seemed like completely different situations, you see.

    Hello @VladVonCastein

And thank you for this feedback. Some naming can be confusing, but if the object is Remnant core, how else should we name it, it is either data core, or a simple core, but still Remnants related.

    Cheers,

    Archi

  • Exactly what Panda said.  LOL it's almost like if you go to a steak house and give a feedback about the steak eg too cooked when you order medium and the manager there ask you to teach the chef how to cook a medium steak...

Do we the gamers know a remnant data core from a remnant core?  No, it comes in a box and we dont even get to see what it's like, just a name in our loot, so call it something else.  All I am asking for is differentiation which will not lead to confusion.  Just like that Panda suggested a bunch of names.

If your colleagues in the creative dept that's paid to do this cant come up with this, perhaps EA/Bioware could pay Panda instead?
