Game keeps freezing (Mass Effect 3 PS3)
My game plays fine until i get to the mission "Priority: Citadel II" where you have to rescue the council members from udina and cerberus. It skips and freezes right after i have saved them and it goes to Kai Leng in his shuttle talking with the illusive man... it skips for about a minute and then freezes before it goes to the illusive man talking. Everytime this happens my PS3 freezes and will either beep 3 times after about a minute indicating it is restarting or i have to press the power button to manually reset it. When the system reboots and checks the file system for errors i then resume the game and have a 75% chance of this issue occuring again and having to again reset my system. This issue only happens in the mission and scene mentioned above, the game will play fine afterwards if it manages to not freeze. My console plays all other games without any issue (Mass Effect 2, Battlefield 3, Final Fantasy 13/13-2, Borderlands 1&2, Dead Or Alive 5, Gran Turismo 5 to name a few).
Note: Even if the game does not freeze it will still skip pretty badly. This is the only scene in the game that skips as badly as it does. It will play the scene for about a second in then start skipping and will play the scene for less than half a second every 3-5 seconds. after about a minute of this occuring the game will either freeze or play correctly.
My system is the Slim model with 120gb hard drive and over 40gb free. I regularly check for and install any available updates both for the system and the games. I recently downloaded and installed the DLC mission packs: Citadel, Leviathan and Omega. I was able to play Leviathan and Omega with no issues and have yet to start the citadel questline as my game keeps freezing before the questline becomes available. This issue was already present before downloading the DLC and has not gotten any better or worse since installing them.
Any assistance with this issue would be greatly appreciated.
