game keeps freezing then crashing in same spot

Alright, so I didn't have any problems with this game until I got to the Cure Genophage mission. It works until I get to the Escape Catacombs objective, and when I try to move farther than the first room, the game crashes. I have windows 8 and I have tried running as an administrator and in compatibility mode. I have also restarted the mission several times and even repeated a mission, then started this mission, and it always crashes in the same place. I can't move forward in the game unless I can complete this mission, is there any way I could skip over travelling through the catacombs or a way to fix this crash?

    First suspect when there's a consistent crash at the same point is a corrupt file.

    Try the "repair" option (right-click on the game title in Origin and choose "Repair".)

    If that doesn't help, try reducing the graphics settings.  Start with the advanced features ("AA", "Dynamic Lights", "Motion Blur", etc.)

    and if turning those off doesn't let the game continue, try reducing the resolution and/or playing in "Windowed" mode.
