General Protection Fault Error right after destroying Soverign and Captain Anderson finding Shepard.

I hope anyone can help me with this error I'm having.

It seems everytime I beat the final boss and after the scene where Captain Anderson found Shepard, the game stops responding at the loading screen. I've been web searching for a week for solution but to no avail. The older posts in the forums gave some suggestions that I had tried duirng the process of me trying to make the game work again. Unfortunately nothing seems to work.

The details about the errors are as follow:

a) Screen freezes during the loading screen right after the scene with Captain Anderson finding the party. General Protection Fault Error shows up when minimizing the game.

b) Everytime the mentioned scene above ended. Tested it out for 12 times. The result was still the same. (Even after unistalling and reinstalling, updating drivers, etc)

c) Happens at the final portion of Citadel, after gaining control of the Citadel, and Soverign defeated.

Here's my system details.

  • General Protection Fault is a graphics card or driver error. Nvidia is very bad in its support for older games. Try an older video driver if you haven't already.

currently I'm using the oldest known driver for Nvidia Geforce GT630. I tried searching any older than that but there doesn't seem any that support my graphic card. I'm really at loss here, is there any other specific method that I can try? thanks for replying btw

ps: I'd read about that from the Social forums, but apparently not everyone had the same problem as mine (in regarding the GPF error during that specific moment in the game) there was like 2 or 3 people that had the same experience and they couldn't find the solution either.

Anyways, here's what it says whenever I got this error.

ps: I tried rolling back the drivers to a version that is a bit newer. but the result was still the same.

    Rendering thread exception:

nVIDIA is also less than forthcoming about old series drivers.  Luckily, many honest, trustworthy driver library sites are available that do keep the old drivers on hand just for these instances.

For those interested: http://www.guru3d.com has older drivers.

I honestly don't know. The GT 630 is newer than the video game, so I'd suggest the oldest one that's compatible. I don't know which one that is.

By the way, did you by any chance accept the mission to score that junkie at Flux some drugs? If that missions was accepted but not completed, GPF can pop up at random.

I honestly don't know. The GT 630 is newer than the video game, so I'd suggest the oldest one that's compatible. I don't know which one that is.

I agree that there almost certainly have been several usable Geforce drivers since the GT 630 was released.  nVIDIA simply makes things far more difficult than neccessary with their bad attitude.
