Graphic error in character creation

So I've loaded the game onto my new laptop with Windows 8. When I went into character creation, my character just had black where her eyes would be. Anyone know what might have caused this?

  • This happens when you're running on incompatible graphics hardware.

If you have an Nvidia GPU, go to the Nvidia control panel and make sure the PC doesn't switch to integrated graphics in games.

If you don't have an Nvidia GPU, please post your hardware specs.

I do have a Nvidia GPU and I've gone into the Control Panel. I'm not sure where exactly I'm supposed to change those settings once I get there.

    I have:

    Set PhysX Configuration
    Manage 3d Settings
    Adjust image settings with preview

I changed Set PhysX Configuration to GeoForce GTX 870M, then restarted the computer. The character I'm trying to create still has no eyes.

Not sure exactly what specs you want, but here's stuff that might help:

If there was an Origin repair option, that would be helpful, although I can recall none having been offered in ME-1.  My bet is some missing or corrupted texture files, and the only fix I can imagine to use to fix it is an uninstall / reinstall procedure.
