How does the multiplayer "level" work?
I recently bought the game and after playing a little Single Player, jumped onto the Multiplayer as co-op/pvp is what I play mostly on shooting games (Destiny, CoD, The Division etc.)
Now I'm used to having my "player" have a level (like CoD levels your player up) but I'm a little confused on how/what is progressing when playing matches?
I have basic characters which seem to be rank 1 (the I) and level 1, so do I only level characters by playing as them and not myself - and myself only gets APEX points to determine my goodness (a.k.a how bad I am!)?
Then to rank up characters, I have to open a pack and find a card with the same character for it be become rank 2 (well roman numeral II)?
Just wanting to understand I'm understanding how I progress onto a stronger build (more shield, health, stronger powers) and upwards from Bronze matches...

Guess no one else knows what to reply, since you figured it out by yourself ...
So simply put, yes.
A bit more comprehensive:
Playing a character increases its level and by that the skill points to be spent, which you could use for health or shields or whatever the skill tree for that class provides.
Drawing multiple copies of a character increases its Tier (I - XX), resulting in additional skill points to be spent (II-X) and extra damage for powers, melee and combo detonations (XI -XX).
Every character is leveled independently.
Your APEX rating is simply an adding up of things you achieved.
