How To Transfer Files

Hello,
I had a PC crash last Thurs.  The motherboard was replaced and I
upgraded to Windows 7.  All of my files were backed up and I have been reloading
my games.

My question is how do I import the saved files for ME1,ME2, and
ME3 into the new loads for these games?

I don't want to start over with
new characters; I would like to continue where I left off.

Thanks for the
help, Robbie

  • Pop the saves into your "C:\Users\Username\Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect (#)\Save" folders; they should be available in-game by choosing to load a game instead of starting a new one.

    Mass Effect 1:
    C:\Users\Username\Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect\Save

Files are in "CharacterName_###.MassEffectSave" format; not individually filed.

    Mass Effect 2:
    C:\Users\Username\Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect 2\Save

Each character has a file for the save files themselves; file format is "Save_###.pcsav". If ME1 files were uploaded they would be in a file called "ME1".

    Mass Effect 3:
    C:\Users\Username\Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect 3\Save

    Same file setup as ME2.

    Hello,

I am having trouble finding the files while in-game. I have moved the back-up files into the current game files and I am not seeing my old games.

The file says save, not saved.

    Thanks again

Sounds like you still have some File directory issues.

    Try creating a new character/save.

    Exit Mass Effect.\

Look at the directory and file layout of your new character.

Copy files back from your backup into a parallel layout using that format.
