I know you(Bioware) want me to pick Reyes, and made her one of the few killable characters in the game, but she's straight with me and the world, has a beautifully complicated backstory, and both the game and her will allow me to meet her snark for snark.

You are not alone, i pick her over Reyes anytime. I even shoot him when he was excaping.
He offered a fair duel and she accepted, then you discover he had a sniper hidden just in case. A real coward.
Sloane may be really hard to like but she is straight to the face and can keep her word.

I like Sloane too. She seemed to really be trying to be a good leader when they first hit Kedara, before things went south, possibly with Reyes' assistance. I would like to be able to continue working with her, possibly doing her version of Reyes' "let's make Kedara better (and possibly remove some troubling associates/competition)" quests. Alternatively, it would also be nice to semi-forcibly make Sloane into a squadmate by saving her life withour stopping Reyes' coup.

But Bain still seems more likeable and badass than Reyes. You just need him on your crew so you can hit him every time he calls you something stupid. Can we get Gibbs smacks as a crew interaction mechanic?

I actually think that is pretty good writing... some horrible annoying out of the blue nick that I'll have to work against. I'm up for it.
Good or even bad natured teasing can be pretty funny. Some of my loudest laughs at the first series were crewmembers messing with Liara with the Yahg or about dinosaur bones. Shep should of got poked at more often.
Can't say I'm a fan of Sloane but I get that some people prefer her over Reyes. I tend to pick Reyes but to me it's really a choice between to evils if you will.
I don't really consider her a killable character though. I don't get to kill her. I only have an option to save her. So she maybe saveable not killable in my book, if you can appreciate the difference.
I just personally dislike Sloane because she's got a couple of traits I just really don't like more than the bad traits of Reyes.
The interesting thing is that you need to help Reyes as part of the the path to getting Kadara settled. So in essence you build a relationship and then suddenly you're supposed to choose between the two?
It would've made more sense if you had a choice to help one or the other. So yeah, I do get it when people feel BW prefers people to choose Reyes.

Why Reyes remains alive no matter what after the decision, but not Sloane, is anyone's guess. It could be that since he's possible romance material they didn't want to kill him off... or maybe they really liked his final emails. Personal guess is they're going to fit him in with plotline again. LOTS of choices in the game were: bad or worse - pick one.

Which is fair enough.
To me, he's not actually very good at being sneaky, so it's even more sad that she falls for such an obvious trap. I suppose I prefer someone who tries to be sneaky but I can see through than someone who is really that dumb and arrogant at the same time.
I mean the only reason people think he's sneaky is because it's so incredibly obvious really...too obvious.
I guess we all have our own tolerances and peeves 😉
