I want access to my content, but EA tells me I might lose all of it.
I originally played through the Mass Effect series on the 360. I no longer own a 360; I primarily play on PC.
I was interested in playing through the series on PC by buying through Origin. What I have discovered is that my old Bioware Social Network ID was converted into an Origin account, one that I did not know about. I now have games on this, my current, and only, Origin that has been used. I have some DLC from back when I played through the series that, even though I played on the 360, is actually good for PC, Mac, PS3 and 360, such as the Dr. Pepper DLC items.
I contacted support to see what needed to be done for my actual Origin account to get access to my content. I was advised that I should either:
- Maintain two accounts, one of which is dedicated to Mass Effect.
- Have them do a persona merge, but that I might lose all content and purchases on both accounts in this process and, if that happens, it does not matter what proof of purchase or other evidence of my content I may have, they will not restore anything.
I told him that both of those are ridiculous options, so he checked with "specialists." He came back about 15 minutes later to say that there is nothing they are willing or able to do.
Please tell me that there was some kind of miscommunication here. Has anyone experienced something similar?
