Just Skip The Romance...
Romance choices are so limited that I don't even bother. For a straight male who wants to romance a human female there is ONE choice. Blah...

I haven't completed MEA yet, only at 94hrs and on Voled (I'm a habitual completionest), and have just tested the waters with the romance options by flirting with female characters that I'm interested in. In all my playthroughs of ME1-ME3 I've been a straight male also, it's just who I am and how I react to this type of situation. But regarding your original concern, I know that there are "flirt" options for human females besides Cora, that being Suvi and the female reporter on the Nexus. Maybe those flirt options lead to dead ends, as I haven't really gone too far yet. Or it may be that those relationships won't bloom until later in the series or with the addition of a DLC.
Personally, I feel that the romance options (and they are optional which is good for those that don't want to bother with them) are an important part of Bioware games, whatever your sex/race preferences are, in helping with that "suspension of belief" that you're in a living/breathing world. So far the romance system in MEA doesn't feel quite as tight (poor choice of words I suppose) as in previous games, but I believe the developers are addressing that with patches, and implementing a more realistic experience as they move forward with DLC and MEA2.

I've only done one playthrough so far in which I romanced Peebee as FemRyder and I have to agree the romance was very underwhelming. On my next playthrough I'll probably romance Vetra or Suvi, but that playthrough will have to wait until the game gets a few more patches.
Those lazy animators basically use the same love scene for both male and female ryder for PeeBee. Whilst the scene works for Male Ryder lololol.... Dont think it will work the other way around if you know what I mean... Unless the Asari are Hermaphrodites!!

An adjustment to my original post. I think the reporter on the Nexus is Assari not Human, sorry for not checking before I posted.

Could be worse.
You could be a straight female and stuck with Liam as your one and only.
Well, there is Reyes but neither Liam or Reyes romances are great.
Pretty sure, with the way things ended in my game, not-particularly-picky Reyes isn't planning on dating either of the Ryder twins.š
They should give us a DLC with romances. So they see, if the people are seriously interested in romances.
About romances: Worst romances in ALL Bioware games EVER ... even Anomen was sexier than Liam .... š±

Maybe they should limit romance options and really deepen them, one for each gender and perhaps a gay option. I know many prefer the quantity over quality ... so I don“t think its going to happen.
I would rather this so much.
One good alien romance and one good human romance for each sexuality and leave it there. Then work on actually making those romances awesome.
Instead of like 3 f/m, 5 m/f, 4 f/f and 2 m/m. With only 3 out of all those possibles actually being decent.
Even it out, 2 for each, one human one alien and make those romances awesome.
[Edit] f/m didn't even get a human romance that included a sex scene this time and both human romances were very lacking. Yet m/f got 2 romances with sex scenes. m/m didn't even get a sex scene at all.
Give all romances the options of sex scenes and cut out like half of the f/f romances and m/f romances to even the field so the f/m and m/m can actually get a couple of decent ones.

Cora's is actually a better romance if she keeps her clothes on.
I suspect it will all kinda balance out over time, DLC, and game count. The original series was pretty lop sided each piece until you factored *all* of it in.
I still can't get over Archont not being romancable. BioWare, why you let me down like this... Dem sexy hips...

Yah thats the case sometimes. I don't need Liam to get his clothes off - but its like it goes from a ine night stand to serious - with no build up or chemistry in the middle. The aya date you get the same scan mission as everyone else, a different line or two of dialogue that hints at a date but the date is off screen.
There is no kiss or anything to hint at a growing attraction.
The the 'talk' scene where it can break off, get serious or be no strings. Still not even a kiss. Just a head nod and follow me look to what I assume was probably off-screen sex. Again thst entire scene other than a couple of lines of dialogue was the same scene as everyone gets for the soccer game. You finally see a kiss later on when they actually have the last date on Eos after they are serious, there isn't even a kiss right before leaping into the fire pit of meridian just a little conversation.
How it feels is lazy, like they didn't want to do any extra animation for them at all outside of the very basics tbh when others got the whole deal. Jaal and Cora for example got romance scenes a good minute or two longer than anything Liam got if you look at the youtube vids for just romance scenes. They said the romances were supposed to be equal but they werent. Liams screen time was all the same stuff everyone else got, the romance a couple of lines dropped in at the very end with the bare minimum animation and that was it.

I'm probably not the best pick to commensurate on Liam romance. I don't much care for his character. I'm not surprised he's underwhelming as written romance.
Given a choice in Andromeda between kissing him and licking rocks I'd pick the anaphylactic shock.
