I feel like it doesn't prime anymore. Some say it does but you have to be quick. Either way you can prime off of shield drain, the shocking barricade, ammo or rely on allies. Lots of options.
The energy drain is really the best/only option imo. Forcing us to use ammo and allies to make combos is silly and isn't really in the spirit of having power centric builds.
