If anyone is still experiencing the above mentioned problem, I have a solution. Open the game; Load the previously saved game on the Normandy (do not click continue); open the options tab>graphics; run in the lowest possible resolution; run in windowed mode and turn off any shadows. Dr Bryson's lab will load now. You can reset the settings you just altered right after your conversation with the Dr. finishes. You're welcome 🙂
