What I've read here might work for a fix, although I must say it is a hilariously game breaking bug, since I rely on sound for clues to where enemies are, gold is a real pain without audio. I hope the tip in the link helps, I haven't had the bug return since trying it a couple of hours ago.
Well i'm going to try the exclusive control suggested fix as an interim as there is seemingly nothing else left to try.
I've even tried the gst fix for battlefield4 inside profopts_profile by puttig the variable in, but sadly it would seem this variable is not used in ME:Andromeda, so it just removes it. strangely i played for 5 hours straight the other day after testing this and i got all hopeful then bam.. sound gone again.
so testing swehaan's suggestion now... and if that fails.. its back to the drawing board 🙂

Just reporting back that i've lost sound again even using the swehaans suggested fix. sadly i really think this needs fixing in the game code, i doubt very very much its anything to do with our pc's and sound which works perfectly in every other game except the ones constantly affected by the same engine that EA seem to integrate into many games (battlefield etc) with frostbite. It has problems EA. it needs resolving!

yeah its the game itself.. though its odd how i lose all sound for EVERYTHING (youtube, music player, system sounds, etc.... until i shut down the game.)

There was once a time where issues like this were given importance by game developers, but it doesn't seem important enough to warrant even comment from EA/Bioware it seems. I would be encouraged by a response at least to say 'hey we are actually looking at this problem and this will be resolved next patch' but to get no response at all, is at the other end of the scale.
This is not a problem that happens to one or two people where a workaround can or has been suggested, its widely experienced not just in this game, but seemingly in other games that use the frostbite engine. Worse yet that magical fixes that worked in previous titles using it don't work in this because they didn't include the variable needed for the fix to transfer to this title.
Sooooooooo we are completely at the discretion of the game developers/publishers and unless we see a fix for it.. and soon.. then for a very long time it would seem that the publishers/developers must think its ok that the people who play the games they developed to have to shutdown the game and restart it.. just to get sound back that their code keeps cutting out completely.
It is one thing getting the crash to desktop issues (wave 7 with 30 seconds left before evac .. ohhhh thanks so much for that!!), but it is another losing sound in wave 1 and not being able to rely on audio to define if there is enemies approaching/around, or if you are taking damage when your eyes are focusing on other things.
THIS NEEDS FIXING. PURE AND SIMPLE. NO MESSING AROUND.. WITH A TIMELY EMERGENCY PATCH as this is a game breaking issue alongside the CTD's.
