@holger1405 I recently had an issue with one of the Mass Effect games (either 2 or 3) where attempting to launch from outside Origin forced a downgrade to an outdated version of the client. It was very weird.
Did one of the games run in XP or Vista compatibility mode?
Origin OS detection is going haywire and installs the old client if that is the case.

I'm not sure. I'm currently on my work laptop so I can't check. If I haven't replied in 10 hours it means I forgot to check, so feel free to tag me then. 😉
Edit: Compatibility mode was not enabled.
Then that behaviour is indeed strange.
