Mass Effect 1 Cloud file

I decided that I would play through the whole trilogy starting with the first one but I am unable to save the game. I have saved the game and even saved it locally just to be sure but my newest file constantly gets deleted/overwritten. The thing is...I have no other save files. There is one on cloud but I can't delete it and it will not load. ☹️
