This is a shame, that we could not combine voiceovers and subtitles as we wish. Its not such a hard feature to add. How can we contact and put Biowares attention on this?

I assume that the Russian version is language locked like it was before in other EA games. The platform might play a role here to, but from what I could find you can change the audio and subtitle/text language freely, at least on PC.
I guess we have to wait until tomorrow to be sure.
- 4 years ago@holger1405 I spoke with support and they told me that u cant change subtitles and voice. I mean only English or RUssian not a mix. I just hope someone will find out how to change it like it was with original,or will make rusificator for subtitles
- 4 years ago
@holger1405you cannot, my friend is on PC
I mean you cannot change voice and subs language separately. It's design or tech decision
- 4 years agothe worst news that could happen, I thought it couldn't be worse, I would forgive this remaster for everything, but not the Russian voice acting, I will not buy the game until this changes

Too be clear on that, I think that is true for the Russian version, but I doubt that will be the case for the international version.
- Holger14054 years agoHero+
According to the EA help page there is only Russian voice-over for ME1, so ME2 and 3 must have English voice-over, even in Russia.
- 4 years ago@holger1405 Do ypi mean that if I choose English version i will be able to change subtitles there?
- Holger14054 years agoHero+
I can answer that with certainty tomorrow @5pm CEST. 😉
What platform are you on?
And you are in Russia? - 4 years ago@holger1405 I live in Norway but I * russian. So I was thinking to play with english voiceover and russian subs
- Holger14054 years agoHero+
In Norway you should get a international version anyway.
I will update the thread tomorrow after I tested the settings. - 4 years ago@holger1405 wow I hope u are right and I will be able to change subs how I want) Thank you

Why in the first part of the re-release there is no possibility to combine the audio language and subtitles?
The Russian dubbing in the first part of Mass Effect is terrible! The idea of republishing this great series of games is great, but the frankly slapdash work of the Russian dubbing team, with their gag in the dubbing text, poor selection of actors does not allow to enjoy your work. In the game, loved by of players for the cinematic plot and characters, the game of actors is of paramount importance when diving into the story. And terrible Russian duplication destroys and spoils all this!
Please add the option to select English voice+Russian subtitles in Mass Effect 1. I think that many of the RU community will agree with me and support this request.

Unfortunately you really cant change Audio and Subtitle language separately out of the box. 🙄
I am pretty sure a workaround for that can be found, but as said, it is not working out of the box.

Can u please add the feature to combine english voices with russian subtitiles in russian version? russian dubbing is absolute disgrace, so called actors gives less than zero s-t about the game, voices does not match to the charachters at all
- 4 years ago@SausageMaker2000 The people demand justice and the choice of the voice-over language with subtitles !!!
Unable to select subtitles and dubbing separately.
That's a big omission on BioWare's part. Please consider changing the voices and subtitles separately on PCs and consoles.
For example, players who choose Russian subtitles are satisfied with mediocre voice acting in the first part of the game. When for ME2 and ME3 it does not exist at all. This is silly. I would like to have a pleasant gaming experience with English voiceover and Russian subtitles (and similar cases).
Judging by my statistics, it detracts a lot of people from buying the game.
So do I.
